We cruised on the Oasis of the Seas before and so decided to try the Allure of the Seas. It is the same ship. However, that is where the similarities end.

There was no line to get in to board. There was no wait to have our luggage taken. Anthony the porter was courteous and professional. The staff was on point. We found everyone willing to help in any way they could. There was constant cleaning. Thus clean restrooms 95% of the time. Lots of activities and we did not feel pressured to buy or do what we did not want.

I would have given 5 stars if we were not so "nickeled and dimed". We bought the drink package for our teens. They got fruit smoothies the entire trip (don't do soda). We brought on our allotted 2 bottles of wine and took them to the main dining room. The bottle was held for us until finished. The waiter, Moises, offered the cheese plate each night as we were drinking wine. That was thinking outside of the box. The cheese plate is on the dessert menu.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D4

Typical cabin. 2 beds plus a couch. Couch pulls out to 2 twins. A bit snug for 4 but it was fine. This is on the Starboard side. The side where you embark and disembark. Near the front of the ship so getting to the gym/spa and the Solarium are a breeze.

St. Maarten

$3/$4 per person taxi ride to shopping and walk back (1 mile). Lovely. Small streets,

Beach, beach. rocky on the left and sandy on the right (when facing land).
