We have never been on a cruise before and we feel this gave us a good bench mark for future cruise standards that we will like, yes we are now hooked and looking to book the next one!! The ship was excellent as were the staff with nothing too much of a problem. The ship is extremely large and it took us a day or so to get our bearings. We opted for late dining which suited us as we did not have to rush back from days out in port, the standard of food in the opus dining room is very good. We eat in a lot of top London restaurants so do have educated palettes!! The buffet restaurant Ocean View always had a good choice of food for breakfast and lunch although we only ate lunch 3 times. On sea days it is very busy so maybe worth going to opus although you do have to wear appropriate clothes so no shorts swim wear etc. We ate in most of the pay restaurants although used our on board credit for 3. Tuscan grill was a 7/10, excellent service and we would eat here again, Qsine was very over rated and the food was mediocre and definitely not worth the charge, style over substance, gimmicky and poor quality. Murano was fantastic and we paid to eat here on another occasion as we were so impressed with the whole experience.

Our cabin was towards the front of ship deck 6 and was perfectly fine for our needs and we did not feel cramped and had enough storage space. Our only issues were no Iron and no ironing room on ship so we had to pay $48 dollars to get some things ironed, which i think is a complete rip off. They do need to cater for this if they are not allowing people to have irons on board then at least provide somewhere you can iron, other ships do apparently. Our other issue was the people in the room next to ours kept smoking on the balcony and we therefore could not use ours, i did advise customer services but it took them 2 days to address it and another day before it stopped. The bars on board are all great, although you did have to wait on occasions to be served but not too long, i would advise taking a drink into dinner with you as the service here was slower! we particularly liked the martini bar, the drinks are fantastic. The entertainment was good and we really like one of the house bands Blind Vinyl the lead singer has an outstanding voice. We used the gym twice and again good level of machines provided although there should have been a water machine available. We did not book any shore excursions and opted to find our own way around and a fabulous time in doing so.Embarkation was seamless no issues in getting on or off the ship. We stayed i Rome for a few days after disembarkation so did not use the transfer service back to the airport but found the trip t the boat very easy having our suitcases taken for us and put in our cabin. We will definitely book with Celebrity again

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1C

Cabin 1C

Lots of storage, suitcases go under the bed fridge and safe, flat screen tv that you can view your spend account and photos on. Dresser drawer has hairdryer. No Iron in the room, :-( Shower room roomy and perfectly serviceable.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Loved Barcelona!! Easy to get to although a substantial walk to the main thoroughfare, we are reasonably fit and fast walkers and it took us around 25 minutes!! We spent two days here and my husband surprised me with a meal at Jordi Cruz restaurant ABac, stunning meal and there are other michellin starred restaurants in Barcelona, maybe next time. Beautiful architecture, great shopping, friendly locals and wished we had longer to look around, would highly recommend 'getting lost' as you find all sorts of weird and wonderful things!!

Malaga

Unfortunately we docked on a day when the shops are closed mostly but there are lots of Picasso museums and interesting art works around. We wondered around and then went to the recommended El Pimpi restaurant, again would recommend eating here although it does get extremely busy and the interior of the restaurant is wonderful

Gibraltar

My mum always said if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all !!
