The Beyla is a mini-longship, capacity is under 100. We were excited to see a river cruise that included Berlin. Prague and Warsaw as extensions. At the last minute an impending blizzard caused us to contact Viking and our TA. Viking arranged for us to leave a day early and it turned out our scheduled flight was cancelled. Also there was a baggage handlers strike in Berlin. So we flew to Hannover instead. Although Viking assured us we would be met in Hannover, we found no one there. Leaving my wife with our luggage, I walked thru the airport and found a travelers aid shop. Armed with my Viking brochure, they called the ship. The ship called our guide who called back. Its 200 miles from Hannover to Berlin. We got fantastic instructions, and with a little help from the locals, made our way to the Sheraton Berlin. The train ride took 2 hours. Having an extra day in Berlin gave us time to visit Berlin's Museum Island and the all museum ticket got us into 5 world class museums. The water levels on the Elbe was fine, we enjoyed every activity both on and off the boat. The only shortcoming was the voyage was too short. Of the roughly 70 on board, half booked the post cruise extension. We had a terrific time with our 35 new friends. But, we could have spent more time in each city, although the tours were most satisfactory.

French Balcony Stateroom

We were upgraded to french balcony, more than adequate for a 5 day cruise. Even in March I was able to spend time on it.
