We would have liked to have gone on the spirit again but the dates did not match up with our holidays, we thought it was a lot of money to pay for 1 week on the discovery and after reading some of the reviews we were even more concerned that we would not like it, its a bigger ship than we are used too but in the end we had an amazing time.

Flight on time from east midlands, nice flight but unless friends had told us about arrivals and departures being in the same building we would have been a bit mixed up as to where we were going and it was a bit of a walk through lots of people also be prepared for long queues at passport control there are two lots, but after that we were quick onto the coach and transfer was easy, arriving at the port we went into building to register and get your cards this was quick and easy and a bonus you do not have to pay for safe in the cabin, we got to our cabin, bags had not yet arrived, but had to put some shorts and tee shirts in hand luggage, changed and went up to pool deck found a sunbed, we were approached by a waiter and ordered a drink he asked us if we wanted to upgrade to premium drinks package for £50.00 each but decided against it and the package we had was great for us, plenty of choice and named brands of beers and spirits.

We ate in the islands restaurant for every meal only once trying the snack shack and we found the fish and chips there were tasty , the food in the islands we found to be very good lots of choice and hot, I was overjoyed to find smoked salmon on the breakfast menu and had that two or three times but the full English went down a treat, we only had one meal where we could not get a seat and was quite happy to eat our breakfast on the deck with lovely views. An added treat was watching the dolphins playing in the sea whilst eating.

Cabin Review

Cabin outside deck 3

We really liked our cabin everything we needed plenty of storage space even put our cases in the wardrobe space out of the way, a queens size bed with picture window, it was always clean and tidy, did not find out the names of our cabin stewardesses would have been nice if their names had been in our cabin somewhere, fresh towels when you needed them, but we did miss the little things like coming back to the room and no animals made out of towels waiting for you.
