We have taken 23 ocean cruises (most in the Caribbean), and Viking Star tops the list. The ship is beautiful, with many spots to sit and read or enjoy a conversation. Our cabin was laid out beautifully (we were in DV6 category) as was the bathroom. We dined twice in Manfredi's which is outstanding! We only dined 3 times in the dining room (when in all of our past cruises, we dined every night in the dining room). We loved the buffet which is different from buffets on other ships. At dinnertime, everything that is available in the dining room is available at the Buffet, and specialties are prepared when you order them. Fish stew, paella, crepes suzette and cherries jubilee were prepared at the World Buffet . Every night there were crab legs and pealed and cleaned shrimp. Breakfast and lunch were also excellent at the buffet. Pizza was excellent, and I had cappuccino each and every day. Entertainment was provided by 8 very talented young people, and the Cruise Director, Ray Michaels was excellent. Service was perfect in all areas. The ports were the reason we selected this cruise. Everything was handled seamlessly. Our greeting by a hundred or so staff as we returned from the train from Berlin was great fun - champagne, warm towels and cheers from the staff!

Cabin Review

Cabin DV

Our cabin was lovely as was the bathroom. We very much enjoyed the verandah. The launderette was opposite our room, but it was never an inconvenience. We did hear music from the club, Torshaven, in our room; but they were finished by midnight.
