We choose this cruise because of the itinerary and the value for the dollar (pound). It did not disappoint. The ship is a bit old and tired, but was clean and very acceptable. The cabin was a Standard Twin Plus Ocean View and had ample space. The bath design was certainly better than on the Azamara Quest. It was quite acceptable.
The food was edible, but certainly nothing to brag about. It was standard British fare. The two pianists were very good, but the duet in the Captain's Lounge was absolutely lame. I could not believe they were being paid to perform. Their was no dancing band or dancing venue.
The service was very good. A sizeable group of Ukrainians were particularly excellent in their service. The staff as a whole was friendly and excellent.
I had a physical problem during the cruise -- hip and leg pain. The medical staff was outstanding and did their best to help me.
Since my wife is a diabetic who does not drink, most cruise lines allow me to by the beverage package, but not her. CMV did not make me by two alcohol packages, but they did make me buy a soft drink package for her even though she doesn't drink anything on that package. That was their concession.
The number of non-British couples on board was very low, but the Brits were friendly and entertaining on the whole. I would cruise with Cruise and Maritime Voyages again. They are a very good value.
The cabin was quite acceptable. The bath design was much better than the bath design on the Azamara Quest.
