I've been on several cruises and several lines with all ships being over 100K tons. I've avoided smaller ships, as I am prone to motion sickness.

I decided to take my mom and sister on their first cruise as a celebration of life. My mom recently lost her mother to cancer and took care of her until she passed away. My mother doesn't like to fly so I decided to book Grandeur. The port is just over an hour away from where we live.

I went into the cruise not expecting to be wowed but really wanting my mother and sister to have a good experience. Bottom line....I really enjoyed this cruise. The ship is well maintained, did not feel small, had excellent service and had plenty of things to keep us busy. The lounges are very nice. I loved the continuous live music throughout the ship and I enjoyed the atmosphere and positive attitudes of our fellow cruisers. I did not hear one person complain the entire cruise! Unfortunately I have never experienced a ship without complainers.
