Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony

Being the first time we had tried a cruise we were delighted with the Epic and the whole experience. Balcony cabin had ample storage space and cannot fault the cleanliness of it and the whole ship. Had previously read about the small beds as they are rounded which was not a problem for us as we are not tall but could see how they would be uncomfortable for anyone who is. Embarkation at Barcelona could have been explained better as we had to just follow other cruisers who had done it all before. Queues for checking in were big and it looked like lots of passengers used it like guest services asking lots of questions, should have been a different area to deal with this. Although the ship offers freedom dining we booked our restaurants and tables well in advance to save having to wait in line. Booking ahead was definitely a plus as we always had a great table with fabulous views so I would advise to try this. Choose the ultimate drinks package and 3 meal speciality dining options which again were great choices and meant we were not looking at a big bills at the end of our cruise. Although dress code was more casual we like other passengers choose to dress up to get the best out of our evenings and felt this made a difference for us. Did notice that there were more choice of on shore excursions on offer onboard which was unfair to those of us who had booked before arriving. Tip we found useful was ordering the continental breakfast on excursion days which saved time having to leave your cabin to eat as you have to leave really early. Entertainment was first class and spent many nigthts in the Cavern club which was always packed which was mostly due to the great group Siglo who were amazing. Pricilla Queen of the Dessert show was fabulous and the magician was also great. Will definitely be cruising with NCL again.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BB

Great cabin close to lifts and stairs but still really quiet. The unusual layout did not hamper us. Great storage for clothes but nowhere to out your empty cases as not allowed to leave anything out on the balcony.

Port Reviews

Cannes

Took the tender and wandered around on our own which was more relaxing.

La Palma

Wonderful city so just spent time wandering the streets and doing some last minute shopping.
