We choose this cruise because of the ports in this itineray...Most of those ports were new for us like St-Raphaël (France), Ajaccio (Corsica), Almeria (Spain), Ceuta (Spain), Marseilles (France) and Sète (France) and we were happy to see the ports we went before like Livorno (for Cinque Terre), Monte Carlo and Barcelona....We cruised a lot in the mediterranean but we were happy to find a cruise with some ports we never did....All those ports are very nice towns and easily walkable so you don't need to have private or ship excursions...On Westerdam they have specialists who describe what to do and see in each port of call without trying to sell excursions..... The service was exceptionnal on this ship (dining room, cabin attendants, service desk....in fact everybody from the cruise personnel on the ship was friendly and smiling....)....The ship itself is old and need some improvements.......The only bad thing about Holland America is the Internet service (it is very disturbing for us) in the ways you have to pay $29,95/day if you want to send only one E-MAIL or to chek-in for your flight back home.....In St-Raphaël we walked from the port to Frejus and back to St-Raphaël and it's a very nice town....In Ajaccio we walked around the town and took a bus to visit some Islands out of the town and we liked it....In Almeria we walked to the fortress Alacazaba and it was worthed it's so nice and we walked around the town it's very pretty.....In Ceuta we walked from the port to monte Hacho and back around the town (we could see Gilbraltar from the ship and along the coast) and we likes very much this town.....In Marseilles we walked to the cathedral Notre-Dame de la Garde and back around the town and we took a tour to Aix-en-Provence and we loved it ....and at Sete we took a tour to Montpelliers and we walked around the town after the tour and we loved it....

We took an interior room because we don't spend to much time in the room except for sleeping....the interior room is perfect for us because to prefer to spend time in the upper deck walking around the ship or visit each port for the entire day...In the room, there is plenty of space to store everything we have in our luggages...the room was very clean and perfect size for us...

We took all meals for diner in the dining room (anytime dining and we we reserve the same table for the entire cruise (the reservation is good only for 5 nights but you can repeat it after the first 5 nights....) and the service was so nice and friendly that we had to come back everynight.......For breakfast and lunch we took it a the lido market and it was good (they have a lots of choices (asian counter, italian counter, salad counter, mix food counter (chicken, fish, beef, etc....)...We love to go to the shows everynight and they had one different each night (production, magicien, music) and after the show we went to listen to the BB King music which was very good....
