We chose this cruise lines because of reputation and were not disappointed. We were treated wonderfully and plan on going on the Danube and Rhine River cruise next. We were met at the airport in Barcelona by many Viking staff and taken directly to the ship, where we were met with a glass a champagne. Even though our cabins were not yet ready, we were directed to beautiful lounge chairs overlooking the water, and an opportunity to get something to eat. The ship itself is gorgeous. has clean lines, with simple elegance. Our cabin was beautiful and had an especially large bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and our cabin steward was more than accommodating.

We loved each dining experience with amazing food and felt pampered by the wait staff and wine steward. They picked up on our preferences immediately and met them without us even asking. We tipped them above and beyond what was included. We opted for the Silver Liquor Package and would do that again, for sure, although local wine was served at every port for lunch and dinner.

The ports of call, and included tours, were all exciting with the exception of Pisa. Those passengers that spent the extra money to go to Florence came back with glowing reports. Our Pisa "adventure" was not so good. Beginning with the port at Livorno, which was a shock after being in beautiful Monaco. Then there was a strike of bus drivers, which held us up getting out of the port. The half hour drive to Pisa was fine, however, our guide warned us about the pickpockets when when arrived. She was certainly right, as we encountered them on our 15 minute walk from the bus to the Leaning Tower. We also had to pass through screaming vendors. It was the only time on the trip either of us felt unsafe.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

The cabin was as roomy as could be with twin beds, but always neat and clean. And the bathroom was incredibly large with a glass shower.
