We have previously used Ama twice before and also other river cruise lines but feel that, however good the other ships were, Ama were better. The quality of the actual boat is first class in all respects, the cabin, the lounges, the dining and all areas. The food is great too whether the buffet, waiter served or special requests. The small Chefs Table restaurant at the back is really something with a tasting menu of the highest class - not to be missed.
But why Ama, well there are two outstanding reasons. First is the service level, other lines offer and achieve good service but Ama actually deliver a complete and exceptional service. Every member of the crew from the Captain down to the most junior seem really concerned to make sure you are completely satisfied. Every one would go out of their way to see your needs met, whether it was their direct responsibility or not. Secondly, or maybe it's the same thing, is the flexibility, whether in the dining room, the excursions or seemingly anything, whatever your request the reaction was always 'yes, we will try to accommodate you sir'. - and they usually did.
Not the cheapest but the best-you get what you pay for!
