This was our first viking river cruise, but we hope it not to be our last! What a wonderful trip, my husband is a bilateral amputee, so the size of the ship and ease of the tours was just perfect for us. On a regular cruise ship it would take 30 to 60 minutes to get off the ship from our stateroom, (at least for us), but it took us 10 minutes to get from out stateroom and on the tour bus that was parked right outside the ships' dock. We loved having included tours as well as optional tours. The staff was so wonderful, and food was fabulous. We were in the minority of first time cruisers, which we certainly could understand after the trip was over. We are also looking into an ocean cruise to explore as well. Keep up the great job Viking! You've got a repeat customer in us!
The viking representative that I spoke to when making our reservations pointed us in the right direction when choosing a room. Keeping my husbands steps at a minimum and thinking about the noise level from the lobby he suggested, not that the lobby noise level was ever an issue, but it was nice that he thought ahead like that. The rooms are a bit small but you don't spend a lot of time there other than to sleep and change clothes so we didn't find it an issue. The bed was comfortable and the floor of the bathroom was heated! We didn't get to use the veranda much since it was chilly but it was nice to have a window just too look outside.
