We are first time Viking river cruisers and everything about the cruise exceeded our expectations. The smaller size of the river boat gives travelers the opportunity to meet people and make new friends. The included excursions were well organized, informative, and fun. My only complaint was that some ports had little time for shopping. The dining room was nicely decorated and the food was delicious. We had the choice of a full service meal or a smaller venue for a lighter meal. The cabins were on the small side, but very clean and nicely appointed. The room stewards were friendly and eager to make sure all of our needs were met. Our cruise director and his staff were friendly and knowledgable, making sure we knew exactly what to expect at each port and on the ship. I would definitely do another river cruise, but I have my eye on a Viking Ocean Cruise to do next.
The cabin was a little small but nicely appointed and very clean. Cabin steward was eager to please and attended to our every need or want. We had a verandah but the river boats sometimes dock next to each other and our room was snug up to another boat's cabin, thereby making the verandah unusable and causing us to keep our curtains drawn.
We may consider a French balcony next time.
Picturesque Abby and a nice walk through the quaint town
