The problem with this cruise is as follows: too many stops and not enough time to see the places of interest. The Baltics are an area that require more time and focus. This trip was once over lightly.

I objected to the price of the extra trips. Many of them were outrageous. For example the price of a visit to the Hermitage Museum was absurd. I purchased two tickets online from the Museum for two days for $43.00. To have charged over 125.00 dollars for a short visit to the Museum was absurd.

The trip to Berlin despite the charm of the tour guide on the train was almost worthless. Berlin is a city of great cultural importance with a history both tortured and complex. The few hours that we spent in Berlin were useless. Either the trip should be reconfigured or Berlin should not be included.

Cabin Review

Cabin veranda

The room was tiny and although we were very specific and told Viking that we needed two beds, that had to be arranged when we arrived. There was virtually no room for our luggage and other stuff.

Port Reviews

Stavanger

Stavanger was worth seeing because it was not the tourist center that Bergen was.

Aalborg

I found Aalborg Denmark both interesting and unique. I was fascinated by the two murals on the wall as one left the port. The City is small charming and combines old and new buildings. It was worthy of a visit.

Copenhagen

Copenhagen is a charming City but the day we were there it was spoiled by hooligans from a football game who pretty much trashed the City. Unfortunately all of the shops were closed because it was a National Holiday.

Eidfjord

Eidfjord was one of the highlights of the trip. It is an absolutely beautiful village with breathtaking views from every vista. I wish that we had had more time to spend in this unique place, one of the very special places on this earth.

Tallinn

I visited Tallinn in the early 90's when it was just emerging from its ties to the Communist bloc. It had virtually nothing and I rented a flat in a Soviet style apartment house. What a difference now. The City has emerged and is charming and full of life. It is a wonderful transformation.

I would have wished for more time in the City.

Stockholm

Stockholm is a remarkable city and deserves more time. It has wonderful things to see and is a great city to walk through. I was enchanted by so much of Stockholm and regretted the short amount of time allotted to this great city.
