I heard so many glowing reports of scenic, I had high expectations...they were exceeded. There were four of us (2 couples) travelling together We were on Scenic Opal on the Jewel deck, down at water level. It was fabulous, plenty of space, eye level window, great view of the scenery, but we spent most of our time in the lounge or the front deck or on the top deck, even if we had a balcony cabin we would have been up in the lounge etc so that you can see BOTH sides of the river. The food was wonderful, my friend has many dietary needs was so well looked after she was thrilled. Our cruise director Richard Grey was BRILLIANT the entertainment on board, the excursions, guides and staff were second to none. Budapest to Amsterdam was the BEST way to go. Loved it. Well done SCENIC
I marked Embarkation down one point because:
One thing could be improved is information on arrival. In the 'Welcome' book it stated we were to transfer to the ship from the front of our hotel at 11am and it also stated 'Embarkation at the ship starts no earlier than 3pm" This caused some confusion. Guessing we would be at the ship by 11:30, were we to stand around for 3 and a half hours before getting on? did we drop our luggage there and go sightseeing for a couple of hours? No it all went very smoothly the coach picked us up, took us along the river to the ship, we went on board to a lovely welcome with snacks and drinks available immediately, while we waited to be shown to our rooms, so maybe the written word of the 'Welcome' could be changed to show that you go to the lounge whilst waiting.
plenty of space, good bathroom. In cabin on screen internet would not connect for whole trip but WiFi for our iPad was good most of the time.
