he ones in line waiting for tables without reservations and being told they would have to come back in 2 hours! Remember when we called the head office and they said no reservations were reqFirst of all let me state the good. Great food in the Aloha Cafe, Skyline and Liberty. (the complementary restaurants). Great excursions at each port, just very pricey. If your plan is to see as many of the Hawaiian highlights then a cruise gives you that, just wish there was another option of cruise ships. We have done three other cruises with two other companies and can honestly say the service on the Pride of America is terrible. The people we dealt with at guest services were extremely rude and were not very helpful even when presented with printed confirmations for ordered water bottles, dinner reservations and so on. Months before our sail date we contacted Norwegian directly to make dinner reservations for our group of 11 for dinners for the 7 nights, we were told such reservations would not be required that we could simply approach the hostess on any given night and request the table and we would be seated in a few minutes. We went ahead and reserved our first night at the Skyline anyway just to be on the safe side. When we arrived we brought to a two tables of 6. We wanted our group to eat together as this was a family reunion and the whole purpose of the trip was to spend time together. When we finished our meal we went straight to the restaurant guest service desk and made reservations for the Liberty and Skyline for the rest of the week for 11 people usually between the 5:30-5:45 or 6:00pm time slots. Every night we were brought to two separate tables and had to have them change it. This was so frustrating, when we looked around there were plenty of other large groups being seated together, not sure why were treated this way. At least were weren't tuired and that we would be seated within a few minutes, well maybe they should speak to those people standing in line. Again, a few months prior to sail date we had ordered water bottles to be in our cabin on the arrival date. The bottles were not there, we called guest services and they said that the order did not appear on their system. We had a printed confirmation so we brought down to the guest service desk, where the gentleman asked if he could take a photocopy of the confirmation and he would fax it to the head office for confirmation and let us know. On day 2 no water, no response from guest services. We head down once again and ask if they are able to send us the water. They reply that they have not heard from head office as it's the weekend and they are not open. You are kidding me right. I ask to speak to their manager. Okay, she's only available tomorrow morning. So, day 3 we go to speak to the manager she repeats that the office was not open on the weekend and that she will check with them today. I tell her that I am now three days out of pocket in buying water, when I have a confirmation of an order in my hand that is not being filled. I ask that the water be sent to me right away and that she investigate the order on her own time and can charge the water accordingly after the matter is resolved. The water came to my room within the hour, my confirmation was confirmed. We have never experienced anything like this on the Royal Caribbean or Disney Cruise lines. Okay, here's another thing, Norwegian Pride of America makes you pay for your lanyard, you get your key card and then if you want a lanyard you have to go to their gift shop to buy it. If you are not going to include one, at least tell us before we board so we can bring our own, cash grab here not appreciated and leaves a bad taste, considering how much our stay costs. Final straw, never have we had to pay for pop on the other cruise lines. It's included unlimited. Here only lemonade or ice tea is included otherwise you have to pay for pop your kids might want with dinner or throughout the day. Alcoholic drinks not included we completely understand, but pop and juice, really! Almost forgot, staterooms were not properly cleaned, something was always missing, either beach towels, regular towels, sanitary bags and twice turn down service was requested and it was not done in some of the rooms. We had a total of 5 rooms, purchased excursions in each port for each of the 11 people in our group so considering we spent the money we spent on this cruise we expected better service all around, from housekeeping, to guest services to restaurant service. Maybe Royal Caribbean and Disney have spoiled us, I know we will not be cruising Norwegian after this experience. As for seeing Hawaii's Islands. Fly to one, spend some time, fly to another do the same and so on, you'll save money and have a great time!

  • Volcano National Park & Hilo Waterfall Tour
Very informative. Learned a lot about volcanoes. It was great to get to walk inside the lava tubes and on the lava rock field. Then we got to sea an active volcano, which was the highlight. The water spouts were interesting as well.

  • Pearl Harbor
We toured Pearl Harbour as part of our Discovery Tour. We visited the Missouri, the Arizona Memorial, the cemetery, the Bowfin Submarine and the Airplane Museum. We gained a better understanding of it's history.
It's a very touching area, especially the Arizona Memorial

  • Polynesian Cultural Center
A great way to immerse yourself in the Polynesian Culture, you explore the different pavilions, learn to play music with bamboo, dance with pom at the end of a string, taste poi in it's different forms, attend a traditional luau, eat traditional foods and experience a fantastic night show, Ha the breath of life. We purchased the Super Ambassador ticket which gave us our own private tour guide, front row access to the all the activities and shows. It was a fantastic day! Highly recommend.

Speed raft ride was awesome, seeing the Spinner Dolphins was fantastics and the snorkeling was a lot of fun, especially when we swam next to the turtle. Lots of fish and coral to see, not to mention deep blue waters. Rick and Kevin were a great crew!
