We wanted to take the longest river cruise available through Europe. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. Viking handled connections very efficiently. The ship was apparently brand new, and looked it. Everything, from beds to couches to tables was in perfect shape. Our cabin was a little smaller than we anticipated (French balcony?); next time we will opt for a suite. The crew and staff were wonderful. The coordinator of shore activities was extremely efficient and helpful. Wait staff in the dining room and lounge could NOT have been more attentive. Meals were, for the most part, excellent; never less than good. Entertainment on board was fair, but that may have been just us. Many of our fellow passengers seemed to enjoy it.

If I were to make a criticism, and it's a mild one, I would suggest, for the shore excursions, more free time for shopping and eating at local venues. Perhaps shorter introductory, overview tours with longer free times?

We did not travel with children, but being parents of grown offspring, we found it hard to envision children really enjoying this particular cruise.

Very clean, excellent view. Just a little cramped; no place to sit except on bed.
