We chose the Bucharest-Budapest cruise, with a Prague extension in order to experience some areas we had not visited (Bulgaria and Serbia) and to return to one of our favorite cities -- Budapest. This was our 13th cruise, but first on a Viking river cruise, and we were not disappointed. The overall attention to detail was exceptional -- efficient, friendly service; outstanding tours; and great food. One of the most enjoyable days was a relaxing journey through the "Iron Gate" gorge portion of the Danube cruise -- beautiful. In conjunction with the Prague extension, we really enjoyed an optional day excursion to the picturesque town of Kutna Hora -- highlighted by one of the best meals of the entire trip.
We enjoyed the small ship ambiance and the company of some very interesting fellow travelers. The experience was so enjoyable that we look forward to taking Viking's Elbe River trip in the future.
Although a little smaller than we are used to on ocean ship, the room was very comfortable we a good bed. We actually enjoyed the veranda more on this ship than we did on any prior ocean cruise -- very relaxing. The bathroom "filled the square", but was pretty cramped.
