We wanted to do something Special for our 45th Anniversary! We have had our eye on a River Cruise, so Viking commercials got our wonder going. We chose the Danube Cruise mostly because we wanted to see the sights of Europe. We chose wisely, the ship Egil was just the right size. Embarkation was smooth from the airport to our port in Passau. There was always someone there to make us feel we were in the right place. Boarding the ship was easy, inviting, clean and exciting. Our cabin was beautiful & all the comforts of home with a beautiful view off our room. Dining was easy, we sat where we liked and met new friends that we ended up chumming around with! Our waiter was pleasant, funny and took care of our wants & needs. The food was delicious, got to try new things! Always such a variety, and to have a glass or two of wine with lunch & dinner was a plus! Entertainment was just alright, nothing elaborate. Cabin Service was okay, we were missed the first day and had to ask if there was daily service....(our gal was stationed on the bottom floor and we were on the top floor, so we didn't see much of her) We REALLY enjoyed having an Included Port Excursion in EVERY Port. Beautiful countryside to walk around in and we took great advantage of our time off the ship. All in All it was a Wonderful Cruise!!
