This was the first cruise for the family. We had our 9, 12, & 14 year olds onboard. They totally enjoyed their experience. It is not the fanciest, latest or greatest ship. It is pretty low key but the kids had the best time. There was only one pool but it didn't matter to them. The youth/teen programs were put together so well that they especially my 9 year old didn't want to leave from there. She spent almost her entire day there. It allowed for my husband and I to totally enjoy ourselves. So we could truly enjoy our vacation. The food for the most part was very good. We didn't eat at the alternative restaurants. We ate at the main dining and the windjammer which is buffet style. With kids buffet style works well. We booked two shore excursions and I would recommend the day at the beach. Not the bon fire at the beach. That wasn't worth the price. If you are looking for a relaxing, low key vacation then this is for you. It is an older ship and isn't loaded with a ton of bells and whistles. But it has enough activities to do and good food to enjoy. Overall we would cruise again.
Cabin is what you would expect. Not huge but it was clean. Small shower area. We really only slept in the cabin, didn't hang out in the room.
We arrived at the port and it was a relatively easy process boarding the ship. No problems at all.
