We chose this cruise for our 50th anniversary celebration and it fit well in our five week trip to Europe. We arrived one day early and enjoyed Basel including a Good Friday concert at Basel Munster. Imagine our surprise when we also were given an informative walking tour of Basel once we settled into the Viking Tialfi the next morning. Everything about the ship, our cabin, our dining experience, entertainment and activities, service and the ports and shore excursions offered were superb. We would definitely go again. My husband's highlight was the Colmar World War 2 excursion including the story of Audie Murphy. My favorite was taking the elevator and ciimbing to the top of Cologne Cathedral. All along the way we learned so much about European history and culture. We met two nice couples the first night at dinner and we ate with them each evening, and we are staying in touch to perhaps tour again with Viking.

Cabin Review

Cabin French balcony

Ours had no veranda, just a sliding glass door and railing, but just a good view and we felt very satisfied. Our new friends who paid for a veranda came to see our cabin and said they wished they had not paid extra for the very little difference. They had a few more feet for a larger bedside table and a chair, but it wasn't necessary.
