Magnificient small, large ship - 930 passengers but never felt like that many people including little on/off wait time. 11 countries, great destinations. 90% Americans, nearly all > 50, no children. Boarded several hours before published time, bring cruise confirmation document. Security screening re-boarding at every port similar to boarding an airplane. Nice to have 5-6 days here and there at sea for a break from daily tours with plenty to do onboard including informative lectures. Booked 10 days before departure. Had 0 excursions booked before departure, made excursion requests upon boarding, wait listed for some but eventually got everything we requested. Free tour at every port plus 6-12 optional daily tours at extra cost (suggest budget $25-$75 per person per day). Need to book some fee tours to get full experience. Free shuttle bus into town (and free time but not in Russia due to Visa limitations) at most ports, even in-town docking was still generally too far to walk (unlike many river cruise ports). Some ports are distant (3 hours one-way complimentary bus or train) from major cities (Paris, Berlin) with optional more local tours. Some passengers met online via Cruise Critic prior to trip and booked private excursions. We were unable to dock at Porto, Portugal due to weather.

Cabin was excellent, Internet surprisingly available much of the time, works best for email and searches but not good for large downloads. Beware that your international calling packages from your phone company likely does not not cover calls made from sea. 3 self-serve washer/dryer units on each level (laundry detergent free) allow you to pack less. Our room was near elevator, no noise, very convenient. Use in-cabin safe for valuables. USA electrical outlets, no power converters required in cabin.

Food very good. No extra charge for food. Complimentary wine at meals. Probably 6 places to eat, 2 require reservations - book these prior to your trip or asap after boarding. Despite free on board food, we enjoyed grabbing lunch in outdoor cafes in town to feel in the environment and to sample local cuisine.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe veranda

King bed. Veranda larger than on river cruises. Shower, bathroom very nice. TV with selection of movies (free) and news channels. Quite nice.
