We selected this cruise because we had never been to Spain and visiting the Normandy Beaches were on our bucket list. It turned out to be so much more than I expected. All of the employees in the kitchen, entertainers, cabin stewards, doctor, are efficient and sincerely enjoy their job. The ship was clean and appointed nicely. I was concerned about a small ship as I have some motion issues. We encountered rough seas one day but they must have good stabilizers as I never needed any medication. We were 6 people traveling together and we never had to wait for a table no matter what time we went to dinner. The food was a step above other cruise ship's Ive been on. (I've been on Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity). When you factor in all the things that are included in this slightly higher price, you are not paying much more than the large ships. The tour guides (except for 2) were knowledgeable and seemed excited about sharing their information. Their English was excellent. After every tour you have the opportunity to review the tour guides. We had 2 folks with us with mobility issues so we opted to book our own tour with "Overlord Tours" to see Normandy. I wish I had more time to shop, but I guess I was too busy seeing things. Our room was not as cool as we wanted and they fixed it quickly. I didn't like the coffee maker inn the room. Too difficult to use. I just ordered room service which always came on time and the food/coffee were very hot. I guess the best thing I could say is we just booked our next cruise for the fall.

I wish Viking would let one person reserve excursions for the entire group traveling together.

Cabin Review

Wonderful! Large bathroom, comfortable bed, USB ports, and plenty of room.
