We chose this cruise because of its itinerary. We had been on the Star its inaugural year and did Bergen, Flam, and Stavanger and then the Baltic. This cruise took us further up the coast of Norway and our time in the Land of the Midnight Sun was special. The ship is beautiful, just like all the other sister ships. We actually chose the same cabin because we were so happy our first trip and we actually had the same Captain Knutsen and his lovely wife Lara. The staff was again fantastic and couldn't do enough to please. We mostly ate at, and greatly enjoyed, the World Cafe, but also enjoyed Manfredo's one night. Our best treat was the 4 o'clock High Tea! We saw a couple shows, but don't cruise for their entertainment. Shore excursions were extraordinary. We paid extra for the optional tours to Trollfjord, Geiranger Fjords and Glaciers, and the Tromso cable car and enjoyed them all. The drive to the North Cape was great. Disembarkation worked like a charm, with local youth volunteering to handle our luggage. We are strong supporters of Viking and are already planning our next Viking Cruise - possibly down under.
We were in this same cabin on the Star and LOVED it, so booked it again. We love the extra storage and drawer space. We love the location for running up to the World Cafe. Additionally, the mid ship elevators were near enough, but not too near to be a noise problem.
