Sail Date: Mar 2017

I had cruised the maiden voyage of the Viking Star in 2015 and was excited to sail on her again, with this Venice-Athens cruise. The ship is amazing, the crew is superb, the dining choices excellent, and guides are great. The Penthouse Veranda cabin is roomy and well-appointed. The ports and excursions are handled well, allowing time for exploring the wonders of the regions visited. Unbelievable sites from 700 BC were mind-boggling. We did the 4-day extension in Athens and are so glad we did. It enabled us to delve more deeply into all the historic sites in the area. Climbing to the Parthenon, traveling to explore the Peloponnese Peninsula, and going to Delphi to ascend to the Temple of Apollo were all memorable excursions. We had a free day in Athens and were able to use the Metro to travel to the Plaka District for some shopping. It was a seamless cruise and I would highly recommend Viking Ocean Cruises to anyone wishing to experience travel at it's best.

Cabin Review

Cabin Penthouse Verandah

The cabins in this category are very spacious, with ample drawer and closet space for two women traveling together. Having the refrigerator replenished daily is a nice luxury. The cabin stewards do an amazing job keeping everything clean and neat, and are willing to fulfill any reasonable request. Sitting on the verandah to enjoy the amazing sights is a definite highlight of ocean cruising with Viking.

Port Reviews

Venice

The shuttle from the ship was very convenient and timely. Having been to Venice before we chose to explore on our own. It was a very pleasant visit.
