We took the Med Odessey cruise for the many interesting port visits. We had seen the commercials for Viking and it seemed like a nice adventure. The reality surpassed the expectations. The crew was wonderful, the ship comfortable and elegent. The port excursions were well planned and the guides knowledgeable and friendly. As expected the food was excellent with the service both personal and quick. We loved the cruise so much that we signed up for a Viking river cruise before our sea cruise was over. Viking is the way to go. Our cabin steward was exceptional. After the first day he knew our names and we would talk each day about the events of the day. He always had a smile on his face even though his days were long. The ship is smaller than most sea liners but with only 930 passengers it was very easy to find a secluded nook if you so desired. THe port briefs before each port visit were very instructional. We will be doing another Viking sea cruise in the future after we determine another desireable itinerary.
