Had a phenomenal cruise in 2016 - Viking Homelands. Try to match that experience. All went went this year, but the destinations just can't compare. A few too many sea days on this cruise, three were planned which is borderline too many on a short cruise / smaller ship. Having a 4th unplanned one was just too much. Tromso as a destination was way over-rated. The included tour included such highlights as the college campus and hospital. More time in Edinburgh would have been nice. It's a great destination and one day just wasn't enough. The entertainment was a disappointment. The onboard entertainers were certainly talented enough (actually better than on Viking Sea in 2016). It's just that all of their shows were essentially the same as 2016. I can accept if you take 2 cruises back to back you will see the same shows, but when the cruises are a year apart that's just unacceptable. The British comedian / singer brought on for the first part of the trip was well liked by the Brits, but everyone else found him less than entertaining. The musical trio, and soloists were all superlative. Listening to them in the Atrium was the perfect way to cap the day. Tours in Lofoten, Molde, Edinburgh, Shetland and Orkney Islands were all excellent. Coordination of tours - getting on & off the ship was fast and efficient. Food was always top-notch. Always a number of great selections. Special events on the after deck were an added benefit. The entire onboard staff was simply amazing, and made it all better. Cabin attendants, servers, crew members, everyone was wonderful. The Captain took some time from his busy day to speak just to us and that was a special treat. We will definitely sail on Viking Ocean Cruises again just not this itinerary.

Cabin Review

Cabin 6038
Well organized and efficient use of space. Needs a few minor improvements - A clock that is visible without having the TV on. A hook or several outside the bathroom to hang a coat or jacket. A magnifying mirror in the bathroom. Something to keep the closet door from rattling every time the ship moves a little bit
