We chose this cruise as an appropriate addition to a week of touring northern Italy. We had taken a Viking River Cruise on the Danube the prior summer and thoroughly enjoyed it. So we figured that the next logical step would be a Viking Ocean Cruise. Little did we know how spectacular it would be. The ship itself was sparklingly new and fresh, with every amenity that we could wish. Our cabin was spacious and incredibly well designed, with plenty of room for storage. The selection of dining options was almost overwhelming, with everything from informal and casual to more formal and "fancy" and everything in between. We tried them all and were never disappointed with the selection and quality. The food was simply outstanding! Entertainment was delightful, with mostly on-board entertainers of top quality. Very enjoyable! Most important of all was the crew. In every respect, we were impressed by ship staff, dining staff, cabin crew, and on and on. All were friendly, helpful, courteous and generally likable. I can't say enough about them, from captain to housekeeper. Lastly, the shore excursions were flawlessly planned with knowledgeable and friendly guides and impeccable timing. My wife and I are already planning our next Viking Ocean Cruise. The hardest part is choosing which one!
