We have Norwegian ancestors, so sailing around Norway was something we had always wanted to do. The scenery was stunning, the service excellent. The shore excursions were good, but perhaps not as good as those we experienced on Viking River cruises.
The speakers on board were excellent - all the way from the Viking history to British royalty. This is an area that Viking has really excelled at. In addition to the talks, most of the speakers made themselves available at other times for ad hoc discussions. I also saw many of them accompanying shore excursions.
This is not a casino and lavish entertainment cruise - although the entertainment is certainly decent. A small dance floor and a small band, plus singers and entertainers were present. Daily reviews of the area and ports were interesting.
Average age of passengers was probably about 70. No children were on the ship, and very few passengers under 50.
Lots of space in this cabin for a couple, even though we had quite a bit of luggage. The mini-bar was replenished daily (no charge). I wish the PA could be piped into the rooms.
