Cabin: Family Oceanview Picture Window

No lobster. No escargot. Expensive drinks (most cruises guilty of this, too, though).

Oceanview stateroom with unused elevated bunk beds that are in the way even when folded up.

The only specialty restaurant we went to was Cagneys. The steak was good, but the side dishes were not acceptable. The mushrooms tasted bad to several members of our party. We also ate at the Skyline where waits for table was excessive, food average (although soups are very good!), service better'n average.

Bunk beds in the way as we didn't need them and they stick out even when folded up. I bumped into them a couple of times; we had our cots separated to provide more room (a small center isle instead of 2 tiny isles near walls & under the dang bunks).

Port Reviews

Hilo

Rented a car. Went to volcano, ate lunch at Volcano lodge at Kiluaea. Went to black sand beach (Punaluu), then Rainbow Falls.

Kona (Kailua Bay)

Walked around Kailua Kona, saw turtles (honu), talked with archeologists at palace.

Kauai

Rented car, went to see Waimea Canyon, and the Na Pali cliffs from above, ate lunch near Hanapepe. Later, some of party swam in ocean at Lyndgate (sp?) Park. Has breakwater to protect swimmers from bad rip currents.

Maui

Rented car first day. Went to Lahiana/ Kaanapali. Played tourist & walked along beachwalk.

Honolulu

Well, we're from Honolulu, and been to the outer Islands many times over the years, so...
