A terrific time on the Whale Watch, Orco Point and Glacier Tour. 
A great time on the Mt Roberts Tramway, but it's expensive. 
A real surprise was the rug dealer - one of my favorite souvenirs - a gorgeous Turkish rug at a great price. 


Juneau

In mid-September, the weather in SF is gorgeous. 
Skip Fisherman's Wharf and the tourist crowds and go to the Ferry Building ("Pier Zero") and see the market. Take the ferry to Sausalito and see the fog crawl over the mountains. 
If you haven't seen Alcatraz, GO. If you don't do a ship's excursions, book it in advance. It's one of the best tours anywhere. 


San Francisco

Take the scenic White Pass railway tour. Beautiful,and the early morning tour leaves you plenty of time to see the town, have lunch and wander around. 


Skagway

Creek Street, of course, and spend the money to see Dolly's house. 
The guides are fun, and it's amazing to think she handled all those clients on her own. Three dollars for three minutes. 


Ketchikan

Low Points: Not the best cabin service.5 foot wide, by 12 feet on one side, and nine feet on the other - so it's big enough for two loungers, two chairs and a table.
