An inside look at one of the most forward thinking nations on the planet is afforded by taking the round trip Bergen - Kinkiness - Bergen trip. Breakfast and Lunch are buffet style and the Evening meal is served as well as kept a bit lighter than on real cruise lines which led me to sleep better. Quality of the food is outstanding, yet the true gems on this conveyance are the true dock-side smells and action when this working ferry stops at around 30 places on its trek up and then back on the Norwegian coast. No need for formal wear, but bring a full range from light to heavy clothing as the only thing constant about the weather is that it changes. Many opportunities for walking, bus, boat tours yet we decided to try our hand at Geo Cache-ing and were astounded as to just how clean and safe almost ever neighborhood we visited presented itself to us. The ship is about twice the size of the lifeboats on the QE2, has a sauna, but no pool. Entertainment on board is not the forte, yet quite enough for us. We especially enjoyed the morning 15 minute stretch exercises in the crisp, clean air outside on Deck 7. Scenery is outstanding and up CLOSE!!!
2.5meters wide ~ 4 meters long. Bathroom very good with temperature regulated shower. No TV but free WiFi. Beds are single (twin size), one is the sofa. No refrigerator, but no need. Laundry on board is very inexpensive (30 Kroners for Wash, Dry, Iron & Soap of a big load), so don't take a lot of clothing. They will store suitcases for trip to give you more room. Desk is small but adequate, includes a table and nice reading lamps. We liked the cabin, but didn't really spend time in it except to sleep.
