After an anxiety filled pre cruise stay in London (Aer Lingus lost our luggage and my wife's walker), we arrived at the cruise port with our newly purchased walker, clothes (for 3 days), and suitcase. We were met at the cruise port by personnel who immediately saw my wife using a walker and offered a wheelchair. This person took us all the way through the embarkation process to the elevator which took us to the ship. At that point, a crew member used a wheelchair to take her all the way to the room...What service!

Muster was a bit of a pain as they still require that you take your life jacket with you and try it on at muster. Fortunately, the muster was in doors and not too long.

The cabin itself (inside D 520) was totally adequate for our needs. There were the bottom two beds and a pull out (of the wall) bed for our son. The beds were quite comfortable. There was a refrigerator, a good size closet for the few clothes we had at this time, a desk, safe deposit box, the usual room safe, and HDTV television. Channels included MSNBC, CNBC, BBC News, fox news, a couple of movie channels (no movies on demand), International ESPNU and ESPN2 (though they rarely showed any sports and were more stations with documentaries), and a couple of entertainment channels showing sitcoms.

Interior

Cabin IE

Cabin totally adequate in terms of space and features. Typical Princess Indoor room, smaller than HAL but larger than RCCL.

Port Reviews

St. Peter Port (Guernsey)

Nice quick stop. Went to castle and shopping streets, but did not have time to do more. Tendering back was a disaster with waits over 90 minutes.

Cobh (Cork)

Fun time in Blarney and Cork. We were able to spend some time at the Woolens Store, which is HUGE. Grounds of Blarney castle were a surprise. Kinsdale was so, so. Just had time to grab a lunch. People were quite friendly.

Belfast

Took private cab tour of the murals, by far the most moving port. Also, we visited the Titanic Museum which we thought was quite well done.

Greenock (Glasgow)

Took ship tour of Glasgow and the Glasgow equivalent of the Smithsonian. Would have liked a few minutes to walk around the downtown area.

Kirkwall

Took the local bus to stone age village and ancient Stonehenge like ruins. Make sure you get to the local bus station by 9 to secure a seat on the 10:00 tours (only run once in the morning and once in the afternoon...too late for cruise).

Invergordon (Inverness)

Took private bus tour to Inverness, Loch Ness, ancient burial grounds, the Scottish equivalent of Gettysburg.

Edinburgh (South Queensferry)

Did our own walking tour, having been here before.

Le Havre

Did our own train trip to Rouen..well worth the time, especially if you do not want to waste the hours it takes to get to Paris.
