Great "home base". Really enjoyed the view from our verandah. The updated tv with movies and television shows/news was a very welcome change; we liked to watch movies or tv shows while we were getting ready for the evenings, or in the afternoons if we just needed some quiet relaxing time. Room was kept very clean and orderly by room stewards.

Nice small seaside town. Archaeological site at Butrint was amazing.

Cephalonia is a hidden gem! Argostoli is a lovely port town, great shopping available. We visited a winery on the island as well to taste lots of their wines and all were delicious.

Visited Olympia. Cool site of ancient Olympics. Very hot and little available shade; if you are going there, be sure to bring a hat and water bottle.

Visited ruins at Mycenae and the Beehive Tomb; these were fantastic ruins. Stopped at Palamidi Castle and took the stairs (857!) down from the castle to the town. Would not recommend the steps if you are not in good health as they are very steep. It is an easy 5 minute walk from the bottom of the castle hill to the port. Nafplion is a beautiful little city worth exploring.

Tour guide provided excellent insights into the Acropolis and we had time to wander around and explore for ourselves, but there were too many people there. Another destination with little shade; bring your hat and water bottle on hot days.

Temple of Poseidon was a trip highlight. Excellent ruins in a beautiful location. Worth the 45 minute ride from Athens.

Greek dinner with music and dancing in the Plaka. Great food and excellent show!

En route to the beach, the host told us we could rent chairs and umbrellas from the local restaurant at the beach for something crazy exorbitant for like 60 Euro for 2 chairs and an umbrella. This information was not provided when booking the tour. If you did not choose to rent chairs and an umbrella, you were stuck setting up halfway up the beach behind the rows of chairs, farther away from the water. Mykonos City felt like the Jersey Shore--not as nice as many of the other places we visited.

Santorini is a beautiful island. We visited the village of Oia first thing in the morning, before it got busy. It's wonderfully picturesque. Other stops on our tour included the black sand beaches, a few churches, the Santo Winery, and Thira, where we ended the tour and took the cable car back down to the ship. There were 2 other ships in port that day and they were not kidding about the long lines for the cable cars--we waited about 45 minutes (though the wait was not unpleasant--stood next to some pleasant folks and window-shopped as we wound our way to the station). Would definitely visit Santorini again!

Fantastic museum. If you are doing this on your own, give yourself at least half a day--a full day is better if you enjoy museums. There is so much to see and the best artifacts and art from Pompeii are here.

Amazing site! I'm so glad I got to visit it after having read about Pompeii so much when I was a kid. Another site that has limited shade on hot days--wear a hat and bring water. It can be extremely busy, so be patient if you go during tourist season.

There were multiple negative or stressful "situations" that occurred on this sailing, all of which the staff and crew handled to the best of their ability:

-Strong winds on Mykonos created a problem with the tenders going to the ship, and resulted in a huge line at the harbor (some people waited 2+ hours in the hot sun and stiff wind).If a ship has a cruise director, they should be out there meeting guests and ensuring that they are having a great vacation.
