This cruise is very nice especially if you have never visited the listed destinations. The dining in "theme" restaurants is a new SilverSea idea, but there are only 5 to choose from, and two require at all times, in the evening, formal dress, while the other 3 require informal dress. Our preference would be less formal and informal dress nights and more "elegant casual" nights. The food in Indochine was too spicy overall for us. The meats in all the restaurants bordered on edible and were not served hot, juicy or tasty. We were somewhat disappointed with the dinner dining overall. Salads were limited! Appetizers were pretty good! The sushi was sometimes sloppily presented, but tasty. La Dame was the best restaurant on the ship and consistently better than the rest. La Terrazza served great lunch buffets, but their evening fare of pasta undercooked pasta floating in unappetizing sauces was off-putting. The seating creates a noisy "cafeteria" style of dining.

Most of our excursions were very good. In Ravenna, the 2+ mile downtown walk to see mosaics in the churches and monastery is tedious. The half-day excursions may include lots of walking without much historical information due to the fast walking pace, and then drop & shop at the end. The off the road excursion jeep safari on Hvar was great! Kotor is always magical! The ruins at Ephesus are a must see. Be sure to do the day excursion to really enjoy these ruins and excavations! Rhodes was interesting in the context of its past WWII history and Olympia was a nice site to visit. Santorini is a lovely island as were the other Greek islands we visited. Athens was wonderful and we stayed two days extra to do the Acropolis. The Acropolis Museum is a must do experience if you stay a day longer. The museum's design and presentation of the history and artifacts of the Acropolis are A+. This cruise was enjoyable and relaxing!

SilverSea might want to tweak its dining room concepts and the over use of formal dress for dining. We could eliminate one suitcase at least. The ship is very well run, pristine clean, and the service and management personnel are fantastic! Our excursions were well co-ordinated by ship personnel. Some ship personnel are selected to go with group tours, which we liked, to make sure we were OK and stayed together, when required. SilverSea is tops in its management and service personnel. We would certainly sail again on SilverSea. This was our third cruise on SilverSea and I'm sure we will be back for more. We would highly recommend you try a SilverSea cruise! You will love their ships, personnel, and itineraries.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Verandah Suite

Cabin DV

Nice size cabin with small deck that accommodates two chairs&table. This side of the ship faced the dock in the majority of the locations. Equipment trucks service the ship on and off at dock and are noisy. The bathroom pipes make a constant whistling noise but we closed our bath door to tune out the noise. Not sure if that is in every bath. The baths are a nice size! The deluxe suite is very comfortable and the walk in closet is generous. The "mirror" TV's on the two mirrors were a bit difficult to navigate with the "clicker" in order to get excursion information. Even so, a comfortable and relaxing room which we enjoyed.
