Sail Date: Jul 2017
Cabin: Outside Twin with Window

My wife and I chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary. Of the 10 ports of call, 6 we had not visited before and we found them all very interesting.

we had outside cabin on F deck and while it was a bit smaller than that on other ships it was adequate and was kept scrupulously clean by the cabin steward. The only complaint would be that the cabin had 2 upper bunk beds which were folded up against the wall as they were not needed. As we had queen bed layout the bunk beds gave restricted head room at each side of the bed resulting in frequent head bumps. The twin bed layout we saw in other cabins appeared to give more room.

We chose freedom (anytime ) dining which worked reasonably well though if we requested table for 2 we usually had to wait 15 or 20 minutes and occasionally 35 - 40 minutes, but generally this wasn't a problem. The meals in the Peninsular restaurant were of a high quality and consistently good throughout the cruise.. The Conservatory (self service buffet) was a bit hectic at breakfast on sea days but was generally comparable to other ships we have been on.

Port Reviews

Porto (Leixoes)

We took the shuttle bus into Porto and walked downhill towards the river. Sampled some port at one of the various cellars and took the cable car to upper level of Dom Luis bridge. Pleasant walk over the bridge for good views of the river and city.
