We had trouble getting to our ship because of plane delays and cancelations but once we caught up with it in Ketchican (two days late) we enjoyed our cruise very much. We took my 76 year old father and his girl friend and my sister and brother in law. My dad has always wanted to fish Alaska and see Alaska so my sister and I decided there was no better way to see as much and fish in may different location as going on a cruise. We had a fishing excursion in every port except for Seward which we wish we had one there also after we got there. We absolutely Loved the Adult beverage package and loved being able to wear just normal cloths that we had on all day in the restaurants. For us and our family the relaxed not set time for dinner was wonderful. The food was very good but very much missed not having a chocolate night and we wish the Sushi bar would have been open in the afternoon. It would have been a great lunch on the days we were at sea. We took advantage of most of the entertainment at night and enjoyed it but we really enjoyed the comedian and the last night when he did an over 21 show was the best. My family wanted to keep it simple and cheap so we had port hole rooms and there was plenty of room for everything. Only thing I would like to improve is that there didn't seem to be very much to do after the glacier viewing was over. We always got up very early (5:00 am) to see as much of the passages and glaciers as possible and we were usually done with glacier viewing by 8 or 9 and then it seem like there were not very many choices of things to do. On other cruises we would have loved sitting by the pool and just relaxing but it was usually very cool and rainy so that was not a very good option. We Love cruising but cruising to Alaska is definitely different than going to warm places. It was awesome to see so much of Alaska and now we know where we want to go the next time to just fish. We will be cruising again but will probably pick warm tropical destinations.
