We chose the Ecstasy due to it embarking in Charleston, where we live. Getting on the ship was fast and easy. We had stateroom E244, which is at the back of the ship. The balcony was worth the extra dollars. It was spacious with 1 straight back chair and one reclining chair. the ship flowed very well. Sit down dinner was great with great service. I tipped our cabin steward on the first day, and talked with him about his home and children. Adi always made sure our room was awesome, and always took great care of us, including always having a fresh bucket of ice every evening. Sit down dining was great. We were assigned a table and met some couples who are now friends. Service in the dining room was prompt, fast and efficient. the interior of the ship was immaculate. We ended up buying a lot of the photos they took, and we scheduled an appointment with the photographer on board. This guy was amazing, he spent about 20 minutes in 3 different locations . The finished product was the BEST pictures we have had of ourselves.
Cabin was what I expected for a first time cruiser. Beds had been pushed together to make a king size. the door to the balcony was heavy and reduced the sound of being right over the propellers. Bathroom was a little cramped, but nice. Closet space was more than enough.
Freeport is not a great stop. The bus ride is about 15 minutes. We got assigned to a jeep and we convoyed around Freeport. The jeeps are set up with CB's we had so many jeeps in line that our CB could not receive the person telling us about the island. The beach stop, was at a very small beach, and unfortunately the weather got bad, so we hung out in the bar and got to know a few locals. Would have been nice if there was a plan B, in case of weather. And the jeeps themselves, be careful they get used all the time so there is a lot of wear on them. There is a lot of play in the steering column.View All 23 Jeep Tour Reviews
We had a few hours of beach time before our swim. Beach and water was amazing. When it came to our session with the dolphins we headed over to the swim area. They don't let you take pictures during your encounter. They have someone taking the pictures and they package them into a disc. The cost of the lowest package was $89.The picturesView All 127 Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim Reviews
