I chose this cruise b/c of the port departure location- Puerto Rico and for the 6 port island itinerary in the Southern/Eastern Caribbean. My last cruise was about 15 years ago visiting some of the very same islands. This was a Girl's Trip for me. I vacationed with my sister and young daughter. The cruise was amazing. Since my last cruise there have been some great improvements. The airport/cruise transfers saved us a lot of time. The embarkation and disembarkation went pretty smoothly. There were several lines to go through before boarding the ship. They were not long lines- which was not the case on my last cruise trip. The ship staff was very friendly and committed to doing a great job. The ship was not too big or too small- it was a good size where waiting in lines was never an issue. We had an interior stateroom which was a good size- roomy enough for my party of 3. The cabin steward was attentive and friendly. The room was cleaned multiple times of day- which helped us keep the cabin tidy. It would have been nice to have had a designated area to dry out swim wear. The entertainment/activities, restaurants and pools/hot tubs on this trip were great. We never were at a lost for finding something to do. Unfortunately, we were not able to get to many of the activities b/c there just wasn't enough hours in the day. My daughter who is 6 loved the cruise. They had a Kids Club- that I signed her up for, but with visiting ports and going on shore excursions she never experienced the Kids Club's activities. We did get to see the Ice Skating Show which was a great outing. Throughout the week, there were a few issues- too small to mention. Dinner in the main dining room every evening was a wonderful highlight of the trip. The food on this ship was very good and the staff was fantastic. The island port stops were amazing- St. Maarten, St. Kitts,... St. Lucia, Barbados. We went on the St. Lucia- Volcanic Mud Bath Experience and Puerto Rico- El Yunque Rain Forest Hike excursions-and straight to the beaches/downtown at the other ports. Each island was unique, with amazing beaches and wonderful and friendly locals. The cruise passengers were also friendly- very diverse- and also the cruise staff. Our staff during the week were from the Philippines, Barbados, Croatia, Japan, Dominican Republic, etc.... it was awesome! We decided to pay our gratuities before the start of the vacation- which was a great option. It made tipping during the trip a non-issue. Beautiful ports, beaches, people and food! Loved cruising on the Adventures of the Seas!
The cabin stateroom was clean and comfortable. The attendant was friendly and attentive. The cabin was cleaned multiple times a day. It would be nice if there was some kind of area to dry swim wear after a day at the beach
