This cruise was chosen for the Norway Fjords and they were all that I expected. The ship is beautiful but the new policy of Holland America is to emphasize seminars and not paying much attention to fun when we had days at sea. The pool area was like a morgue. The daytime activities on the ship were boring talks about the things for sale at the ship's stores and the art work at the auctions. The shows at night were mostly very good. The exception were the singer/harpist and the Russian singer. Their acts were amateurish and poorly done. The dancers and singers were terrific. The various lounges had great talent. The Lincoln Center strings and piano were spectacular. The ports were all very nice and the scenery was unforgettable. I would like to see more activity geared to the young at heart as that is how I feel. If the company had at least put a musical group at the pool, that would have changed a lot of boredom to enjoyment.
