We sailed from Galveston Texas with stops in Cozumel, Mexico, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. We booked our shore excursions through Royal Caribbean for Cozumel and Jamaica, but decide to book on our own for Grand Cayman.
In Cozumel we decide to do an excursion with our extended family to Playa Mia resort. They had so many options for the day form inflatable slides and such in the ocean to a pool and water slide and kayaking and paddle boating. Very much worth the money for a fun day on the island.
During our stop in Grand Cayman we decided to visit the Cayman Turtle Centre. Although a lot of people mentioned that the centre raises turtles for the meat, we at least thought it was a benefit since it was (hopefully) avoiding the poaching of sea turtles. We booked on our own and had no problem finding the bus station a few blocks from the port and taking the bus there ($2.50 pp each way). The centre also returns some of the turtles to the wild. The site was clean and looked pretty well taken care of. The highlight of the visit was snorkeling with the turtles. The lagoon was large enough that we spent about three hours just snorkeling. When we left the centre, a security guard was nice enough to help us get the bus back to the port. The drivers were very friendly, but if you get nervous at people's driving, I recommend you don't keep your eyes open. I told my wife the driving put my driving into a better perspective.
Our cabin was well taken care of and our cabin steward was incredible! We really didn't spend a lot of time there though, with so much to do on the ship.
