Cabin: Large Ocean-View Stateroom

Each day was as good as or better than the day before. After a cool and rainy Spring and early Summer, we brought Alaska good weather. The Gulf of Alaska was like glass for part of one day and the only "bumpy" time was when we were North of Vancouver Island on Day 2, heading for Ketchikan. Even that was very mild.

As usual, an outstandingly friendly and helpful crew.

MDR service was excellent and cuisine was good to excellent.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean-View Stateroom

Cabin D

A standard outside stateroom that was in good condition and well attended by my Stewards. Located near the center stairwell/elevators proved to be a good location to easily get to the Lido Restaurant. Very stable location; no unusual noise.

I embarked shortly after 11:30 A. M. Staterooms are supposed to be ready at that time. Was was not. More work needed to be done within the room. But, others on Dolphin Deck experienced the same delay. I put my carry-on in a closet and left the stateroom to get out of the way of the Stewards. Really not a problem, but unusual.

Port Reviews

Homer

I enjoyed my tour but found the Pratt Museum to be somewhat over-rated.

Kodiak

The tour that includes the Russian Tea was a very pleasant one. It is operated by a local woman in a mini-bus and allowed us to see much of the town as well as hear her stories of life in Kodiak,
