What a nice relaxing cruise aboard the Carnival Triumph and a great way to celebrate both my 50th birthday and our 15th wedding anniversary…san kids! This 4 night cruise was out of New Orleans with one stop in Cozumel. Our flight arrived early in New Orleans so I purchased the Faster to the Fun (FTTF) package. Just a small wait for us while the ship was cleared. Then straight onboard for an early lunch with no lines.

If you have never cruised out of New Orleans, you should try it! What I didn’t realize is that New Orleans is not at the south tip of Louisiana. When we set sail (after a nice nap) we were treated to many hours of an scenic river cruise! We enjoyed the river cruise from our balcony..mixed drinks in hand thanks to Carnival gift package. The gift program is a little steep entry, but definitely worth it. The only downside is we had to rely on our steward to bring us ice.

Our steward, Roderick, was excellent! He was a friendly guy, and had 2 buckets of ice waiting for us each day. The room was a little dated, but he kept it clean…and the bed was really comfortable! He also gave us a $50 spa gift card and $20 off pictures (taken on the ship).

Loved the balcony and the gift program (alchohol in the room). Beds very comfortable. Bathroom comes with a medicine cabinet which is perfect. Overall a little dated but heck, we are cruising and enjoying ourselves too much to worry about the small stuff.
