We wanted to do something a bit different for our wedding, so we booked this cruise so as to be married at sea, by the captain, on 7/17/17. We were not disappointed. The ceremony took place in the Rising Tide bar, which is an awesome venue. Everything from the start of the process went rather smoothly, with only a few hiccups along the way. Just give yourselves plenty of time to get everything done (paperwork-wise), and it will be fine.

After the ceremony, we set out to enjoy the honeymoon. The food in the main dining room was very good, and we were never left wanting more. The shows were very good as well. We planned on doing the adult comedy show on the evening we were in Jamaica, with the thought being we'd be nice and relaxed from drinking local rum beforehand. That was a good call, as the show was outstanding! Unfortunately, we couldn't get into any more of them, as they were sold out the rest of the cruise. Book it early!!!

The only drawbacks I can find is that there were only two places to use the drink dispensers with the refreshment package. While the staff told us we could use any bar to refill our drinks, I purchased the package for access to Powerade Zero. Since we were traveling in the heat of summer, we wanted to drink more electrolyte drink instead of carbonated choices.

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D4

The room was always kept tidy by Dwight, our room attendant. The sofa was a bit worn, but it's all good. There is a surprising amount of storage space, if you look. Our 3 suticases fit under the bed with room to spare. Since we were married while at sea (in international waters), we had some extra stuff with us. There was plenty of room for all of it.

PRO TIPS: bring some magnetized bag clips so you can hang stuff on the walls. Since the ship is made of metal (also helping against fire), the magnets WILL stick to the walls. We kept our vitamins and medications in a bag on the wall, so as to not forget them. We should have brought more of them with us, as we could have hung the daily cruise compasses as well. Also, take air freshener, as the restroom ventilation is non existent. Since our room had a balcony that overlooked the ocean, we spent quite a bit of time on it. TAKE BINOCULARS, as there is plenty to see!

Port Reviews

Labadee

We were married onboard the ship on Monday, and we were in Labadee on Tuesday. With that, we wanted to just decompress that day, and enjoy the beach. We went to the rocky part of the beach in the morning, as it was far less crowded. We got a good, shady spot, and had an attendant set up a couple of chairs for us (we gave him a tip for his troubles). Since we were in the less busy part of the beach, we were able to enjoy the bbq lunch without the crowds. After eating, we relaxed with some Labadoozies (which are very good and highly recommended). Finally, we went to the other side of the island that had the sandy beach (and 5X as many people). The water was clear and warm, and we enjoyed it. Finally, we both agree that Labadee had the best pineapple we ever had! The local vendors are a bit pushy, but the authorities kept them pretty much in check. Overall, we enjoyed this stop very much.

Falmouth

We really didn't care for this stop very much. We made the decision beforehand to not leave the port area. We ended up going to Margaritaville, and were highly disappointed. The service sucked, and the food was only slightly better. We did enjoy shopping for local goods, and met quite a few very nice people there. We sampled quite a bit of rum, and ended up purchasing a few bottles that we can't get here. Overall, we really have no desire to go back there.

Cozumel

We got off the ship early, and took the 3 mile walk into San Miguel. That was an excellent choice, as we enjoyed seeing the locals up close and personal, away from the commercial areas. We enjoyed the main town, but the further we got into it, the pushier the shop owners became. We made many good purchases, and ended up needing to go back to the ship to drop it off, before heading back out. Once back in the port area, we walked past the duty free liquor shop, and were "talked into" taste testing their tequila. Half an hour later, there was no need to go get a drink, as we both had a healthy buzz on. After making our way back onto the ship and dropping our stuff off, we took a cab to The Money Bar, a place recommended by the duty free employee. We had a plate of octopus (calamari without the breading, in Spanish seasoning). That was very good! We also rented snorkeling gear there, and were in the water right next to a boat that was a ship's excursion. We saw plenty of tropical fish, and are happy we tried it. Finally, the margaritas at the bar were very good! Overall, we did Cozumel on our own, and enjoyed it very much.

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

We are from the Orlando area, so we had already seen many of the local attractions. I will say that it was very easy getting to the port, and the drive was very good. The flow of traffic while pulling into the port continued to move uninterrupted. It took about 2 hours total from the time we drove onto the grounds to getting into our room. We took the opportunity to get to know some of the other people on the cruise.
