A close friend asked me if I wanted to cruise around the British Isles when she went. I though that this would be a great idea. The embarkation was incredibly smooth and incredibly efficient. It did, though, take about 2.5 hours to receive my luggage, but that was the only issue I remember. The ship was recently updated in several areas, but I do feel that my cabin could have used a new carpet and some newer furniture. The on-board entertainment was quite good; especially Paul Munro who plays piano most nights and does an amazing job with "The Great American Song Book"! Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing about the food. I found the portions at dinner to be tiny and the selection of foods quite poor. We did have one dinner in the steak house which was wonderful and a fabulous deal for the price. Again, I can't say anything good about the Italian restaurant, Sabatini's. I've eaten in Italian restaurants through the US and Europe. I've actually had better food and service in some local pizza places where I live in South Florida. I wouldn't recommend that restaurant at all. There is a pizza restaurant and a hamburger restaurant on one of the top decks. Both were quite good and were included for free. The fitness center was too small, and there were very few classes on most days. The ship advertised Pilates class, but there weren't any. The spa and beauty shop were lovely with very good service.
All of my tours were booked through Princess. My advice is NOT to do this. Not worth it. Hire a private guide or do the "hop-on - hop-off" buses that most cities had.
Ports: Guernsey Island was absolutely wonderful. I would love to visit other Channel Islands.

I'm not sure what my cabin category is (was), but I had an inside cabin. I usually look to cruise with a balcony and window, but I was actually quite fine with the room. It was perfect for one person.
