We chose this cruise because in the brochure it looked very nice, with a large pool, and as it was our 25th anniversary we chose accommodation with a large balcony. The accommodation was quite nice with lots of cupboard space and although we asked for twin beds we had a large king size - the bathroom was very small and if you are a big person the shower would be impossible to fit into. The cabin steward was very good and could not do enough for us and kept the room very clean. We had very loud Americans on either side of our cabin and indeed most of the ship was accommodated with Americans who were quite loud and spoiled a lot of our evenings. If we had realised that it was the American kids holidays we would never have booked this time of year - although children under 12 were supposed to be supervised they were not!

Most of the day entertainment was around the Antrum which was indoors and only consisted of learning a few dances, the Antrum was very good at night with piano players and singers. There was no sport challenges on deck that we could see which all the cruises that we have been on before have had. The swimming pool was "postage stamp size" very small containing salt water, loads of salt, but no signs to say do not open your eyes under water (many people had sore eyes after going in the pool). The indoor pool was small as well and again salt water with loads of people just standing around drinking - the amount of salt was keeping them upright..

The Windjammer restaurant was okay but, again, catered for the Americans hot dogs with beef being in the forefront (hamburgers, beef pie, joints of beef) and although we like beef it became too much. The food was plentiful but I wish they did not fry their vegetables! We paid to go to the 3 specialist restaurants and I would not advise the Asian - it was not nice, the Italian was fine and Chops was quite good. We found, 3 days before we had to disembark the sit down restaurant and the service and food was fab.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

Quite nice cabin - the net curtains need replacing as it felt like cob webs when you opened them to go outside. Bed very comfy and plenty of wardrobe space and small vanity space. Bathroom very small with a tiny shower. The steward Luis was excellent and kept our cabin spotless.
