We have travelled on smaller NCL ships before, so we were concerned as this was 4,000 passengers and a lower passenger - crew ratio, that the experience might be worse. How wrong we were! It was much better and made for an amazing holiday ; good service from everyone on board, really high standard on décor, food and entertainment. The key seemed to be spreading everyone out around the ship for different meals, excursions and shows. Consequently it felt less crowded than the Jade or Spirit.
As for detailed issues from the point of ordering stuff online:-
- 60 days out, on NCL's website you can book speciality meals and entertainment in advance. However, it was hopelessly ambiguous and very slow. For example, in drop downs, it was listing all the complimentary restaurants so I assumed to be safe and get a table when I wanted I was going to have to book these too. So, worked through all excursion times and show times and when we could have meals and booked them all. The next day, all the complimentary bookings disappeared! Apart from the first one. Turns out once on board, all the excursion times were different, and the showtimes were swapped about so we had clashes (all resolved in minutes on board by very competent staff). But hardly the freestyle / stress-free holiday experience they were making out
