My in-laws were celebrating their 50 wedding anniversary and treated their children and grandchildren to cruise around Hawaii on the Pride of America. Leading up to the cruise, I had read a number of negative reviews about the food, staff and overall comfort of the ship. (I have only been on one other cruise, so maybe I didn't have the same expectations as other cruisers.) The food was good. Some of the meals were better than others, but I think it all depends on what you choose. We dined in the Skyline restaurant for the most of our dinners and enjoyed the experience. The Aloha café had a good selection of fruit and a variety of breakfast basics. Again, not every meal was spectacular, but the food was pretty solid for mass produced meals. The services was great and the crew was very friendly.
We stayed in cabin 7552. It had a nice view and was surprisingly comfortable for two adults and a teen. It was clean and well organized.
The entertainment was fun. It's not on the scale of larger cruise ships, but it was nice to be able to walk into a performance without having to reserve seat. It allows you to be mor flexible with your evening plans.
The cabin was nice and well organized. The view was obstructed, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the obstruction was minimal and we still had a great view of the water and coastline.
