We have cruised 9 times with Carnival and NCL on many ships. Freedom is one of my favorite ships for amenities offered, layout, and the Cruise Director and his team. From Guys Burgers and Blue Iguana Cantina to Red Frog Pub, from Camp Ocean to Serenity, this ship has almost everything you want on a cruise ship. Comedy shows are always great. We did have one comedian that we did not enjoy at the adult only shows, but he was hilarious at family friendly comedy...so I won't mention his name. He was funny enough I would go see him again for Family Comedy. We did have one issue in that our shower did not drain very well and water was getting on the bathroom floor...but a comment to the Room Steward had this fixed within a few hours. So overall, the ship seems to be aging a little. She's not brand new. As her crew keeps her up, and with a little feedback from the cruisers like us, I think this ship is in great shape for a long run into the future.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8A

We had a Balcony on Deck 8. I loved that LIDO hung over the side of the ship another 8-10 feet and offered us some sun protection and rain protection. What I did not love was being right below LIDO (basically Pizza Pirate) as lounge chairs and sitting chairs got moved around a couple of times per day and the sliding chairs on the deck above us was a little noisy.

Port Reviews

Galveston

They have this figured out in Galveston. Easy on, Easy off...close parking.
