Cabin: Family Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Had a good experience on another RC trip four years ago. It is a nice way to get my family together -- have a mix of ages, from 7 to 77, the latter with limited mobility. There all sorts of activities for every age range. Great cabin with a patio overlooking the ocean with connecting rooms. Room service was great, as was the cleaning staff. At night the room rumbled and vibrated for a little bit before we went to bed, which we found odd. The food in the Windjammer was consistently good. As was lunch at Izumi. Enjoyed the globe pub. The food and service in our dining room was mixed in quality. Some in my party got dishes that weren't warm a couple nights. One person's steak was almost uncuttable. I felt like staff was over trying to get positive reviews. It was blatant. Some drink orders were mixed up, and a gin and tonic I had had what looked like a small sliver of lettuce in it. Overall everything was too loud, in the dining room and on the main deck where the shops are. I tried to play trivia at a bar overlooking the main courtyard and we had a hard time hearing the questions and conversing because of a Zumba class nearby. I felt overwhelmed by all the shopping promotions. It felt like people were constantly in my face trying to sell me stuff. Trying to get an elevator was tough for everyone it appeared, but especially for my mom, who uses a wheelchair. I enjoyed the rock climbing, trivia and watching my nephew at karaoke. We also enjoyed mini golf and the pool, as well as the carousel. Had great drinks from the bars near the pools as well as on the boardwalk. Thought the park was nice. We all enjoyed the free ice cream near the pool. I liked the outdoor diving/acrobatics program and an outdoor movie. My sister loved "Cats." The "Come Fly With Me" show was marred by a big techical sound glitch, and one of the male leads sang out of register. I enjoyed my kayak excursion in Haiti. We did a nonRC excursion in Falmouth that showed us the city beyond the port gates, and I enjoyed seeing "the real Jamaica." In Cozumel, we skipped an excursion and rented a Jeep and tootled along the coast, where saw lovely views and had a good lunch. And we toured Mayan ruins. I do not like all the shopping centers right when you reach port. Too much in your face, a lot of seemed like a rip-off. And being routed through Duty Free shops as you line up to get aboard the ship was just crass.
